Ajoy-Ghosh-appointed-Logica-CISO

19 April 2010

Logica Australia, a leading IT and business services provider, today announced it has appointed leading international security specialist Ajoy Ghosh as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).

In his new role, Ghosh will act as the security lead consultant for Logica Australia with a focus on national security and critical infrastructure.  Since joining the company in 2007, Ajoy has already played a key role in several major security projects, and will now provide CISO duties for Logica’s public sector, energy & utilities, and transport & logistics clients.

“Our clients need to know they are working with the industry’s best people as they are often dealing with issues that could become a matter of national security,” says Bernadette Harkin, Logica’s Sales, Marketing, and Consulting Director. “Logica is a trusted partner for organisations across the public and private sectors as we pride ourselves on providing industry-leading security consulting, systems integration, and outsourcing services.”

“Ajoy is widely recognised as one of Australia’s leading security experts and has a long history of working with the government and private sectors as a key adviser on information and protective security,” added Harkin.

“We are currently expanding our security practice considerably to address our client’s security needs and Ajoy’s appointment will further strengthen the suite of services we provide to our clients.”

Ghosh has strong expertise across computer forensics, information security, reliability and protective security and has been called the expert witness in some of Australia’s largest corporate investigations.  In 2009, Ghosh was honoured by the ISC2 as the Senior IT Security Professional for 2009.

Ghosh remains a respected academic in security practices. He wrote the Standard Australia’s Handbook 171 Guidelines on the Management of IT Evidence, and co-wrote the Handbook 231 Information Risk Management Guidelines. He currently leads the Australian effort on ISO’s new work item regarding the Acquisition of Digital Evidence, and continues to lecture on cybercrime and computer forensics for post-graduate law and police studies students.

Ghosh has over 15 years’ experience in IT security working across law enforcement, banking and consultancy with companies including Westpac Banking Corporation, Unisys, and the NSW Police Service.

Ghosh is an I-RAP Assessor endorsed by the Defence Signals Directorate to conduct information security assessments to Commonwealth best practice standards and a Certified Information Security Systems Practitioner (CISSP).
